Weekly Challenge - “C”

This week, we are looking at the Four-Limbed Staff Pose (Chaturanga Dandasana)!

When you look at this pose, it usually goes one of two ways: “That seems so easy!” or “Not in my practice!”.

It is, in fact, a more difficult pose because it uses a large combination of chest, arms, core and leg strength. This pose may seem transitional but when you slow down and focus of your form, you’ll definitely find out where you need attention! Keep the full body engaged for this, elbows drawn in and bending to create right angles. Lower slowly, keeping your posture straight and stopping to hover just over the mat.

Getting into and out of this pose takes great arm and core strength, and the slower you go, the better it works! Let this asana be a part of your daily flow working it into or from a Cobra pose, Down dog, or a plank pose!

Remember to move with your breath. Don’t be in a hurry.

IF you find yourself on the mat and you manage to get a nice picture of your weekly challenge pose, we would LOVE for you to post it up and tag us on Instagram (llamaste_yoga_healing) or Facebook (llamasteyoga)! If you use the hashtags #llamastetx or #llamasteABCchallenge, then we will do our best to see and share your pictures!
